A 16 years old girl from Bongaigaon has been tested COVID-19 positive.

The first Covid-19 positive patient of Bongaigaon is from Manikpur, Bongaigaon. Her name is Afiya Tabassum and her father's name is Amir Hussain Moulabi.

They are resident of village Salmara under Manikpur area of Bongaigaon district. She is 16 years old.

She is grand daughter of Jamaluddin, a Covid-19 positive patient from Chapar. Her family was kept under Home Quarantine few days ago due to came in contact with Jamaluddin. 

They were in Home quarantine since 17 days. During routine test two times the result came negative but on third test, the result came positive. 

Bongaigaon Administration has sent her to Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital, Guwahati for isolation.

Administration also sealed geographical area falling within 3 km from the village. In view of the sealing the area some restrictions are imposed:

1. No entry and exit of population in and out of the containment zone will be allowed.

2. Vehicular movement is to be strictly prohibited except for medical emergency and essential commodities. 

3. Vehicles and persons entering and exiting the containment zone shall strictly follow the disinfection protocol. 

4. No public / private gatherings and meetings are allowed within the containment zone until such time the area is declared free of Covid-19. 

5. All statutory and other direction regarding maintenance of social distancing will be strictly enforced. 

The number of COVID-19 positive patients in Assam now stands at 37, out of which total 9 numbers patients are in hospital as active Covid positive patients as on 3:45pm of 28th April 2020.
