DC, Bongaigaon has offered it as a Gift from the District Administration to the Citizens of Bongaigaon town on the eve of World Energy Day and Durga Puja.

Solar lighting is a green alternative to traditional lighting using no power at all from the grid and eco-friendly, since the systems are completely powered by solar energy. The solar feeds batteries during the day and the batteries are completely recyclable. At night, the long lasting LED fixtures operate off the stored power to illuminate the area. The next day, this process repeats with no outside energy source.

The systems are practically maintenance free, especially since the use of LED fixtures has become more popular. Finally, there are no electrical power bills associated with utilizing solar and this being an eco-friendly energy will not adversely affect the global warming phenomenon.
