A three day training programme on 'Enterpreneurship Development on Fish Drying and pickle making technique' under SCSP has started in the district from today at the premises of District Institute of Education and Training, Bongaigaon.

Deputy Commissioner Bongaigaon Dr. M.S. Lakshmi Priya, IAS inaugurated the training programme organised by ICAR- CIPHET, Ludhiana, Punjab in collaboration with District Fishery Department, Bongaigaon will continue till 12th of February 2021.

Speaking on the event Deputy Commissioner, Bongaigaon said that various new schemes are coming up in the district to be started with Bongaigaon District's own new Milk Brand 'Lakhimi Dairy'- the first individual milk brand of a district ever in the state, Bioflok project SAMPOORNA, Case Culture , Recirculatory Agriculture System etc.

She encouraged the total 50 no.s of trainees to make a real effort to gather the benefits of the modern techniques of fish preservation and processing through this training programme and plan to build up their own entrepreneurship utilising the learning.

Further she added that the fish processing is a new venture and there is tremendous scope for such activities in Bongaigaon district and thanked DFDO, Bongaigaon for making the arrangement for such a new training programme.


The head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dr. Chinmoy Sarma also spoke on the topic of the training programme and highlighted the beneficial sides of the training.

While speaking on the same, District Agriculture Officer made a call to all line departments to work collaboratively for ensuring maximum development of the farmers and expressed his happiness for being able to conduct such a training programme in the district.

The principal scientist, ICAR- CIPHET, requested the trainees to maintain good manner in the training and devotedly peruse the inputs given during the training.

He said that processing starts just after catching fish from water and many items can be produced by value addition from fish.

The inauguration programme of the three day training programme to be participated by 50 no.s of trainees from SC Community was attended by Dr. Arman Ullah Muzzaddadi Principal Scientist, ICAR-CIPHET Dr Guru P.N. Scientist, ICAR-CIPHET, Principal, DIET, Bongaigaon and all staff of Fishery Department, Bongaigaon and DIET, Bongaigaon and so on.
