Review meeting on flood preparedness in Bongaigaon district by District Administration

A flood preparedness review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner' Bongaigaon Dr. MS Lakshmi Priya IAS.

Today evening a flood preparedness review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner' Bongaigaon Dr. MS Lakshmi Priya, IAS with CEO, ZP, SP-Bongaigaon, ADCs, Circle officers, Joint Director Health, District Project Officer and Field Officers of DDMA Bongaigaon, heads of PWD( Roads), Executive Engineer, Water Resource, District Agriculture Officer, Officers of APDCL, Executive Engineer, PHE , Officers of Supply department, officers of fishery and Veterinary department etc.

The Deputy Commissioner asks to be prepared for flood as occurred in previous years. In Bongaigaon various area are flood prone area as it is seen previous years, therefore we should be prepared with plan and project so that no people has to face trouble at the time of flood.

The Deputy Commissioner said, we should always be ready to help people by supply of food items, supporting them giving shelter in camp, by giving them pure drinking water and sanitation, supply animal food, medicine etc. at the relief camps. And this year we should specially be prepared for Covid situation in the district. We have to vaccinate people in flood prone area in preference basis.

The Deputy Commissioner asks the Circle Officers to plan themselves for their concerned area as they think it better for that specific area.
