DC Bongaigaon prioritises decrease in maternal and child death in the district

Bongaigaon, 3 August : Today a review meeting was held in the conference hall of office of the Deputy Commissioner, Bongaigaon which was chaired by Dr. M S Lakshmi Priya, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of the district for review of health department. Specially delivery status of Bongaigaon at the delivery points was reviewed.

After review the Deputy Commissioner asks the concerned medical officers to make functional of the delivery points and should be monitored in the district. Life sheet of all delivery points should be done.

Audit should be done of every data, cause of death should be find out and revised action should be planed. Institutional delivery should be 100% in the district.

Maternal mortality rate should be reduced. For this Doctors and nurses should be dedicated. Anemia patients should be identified and proper treatment should be ensured.

The Deputy Commissioner asks District Program Manager and Jt. Director Health service of Bongaigaon to submit proposal for Primary Health Centre or Sub-Centre to Deputy Commissioner if necessary in comparison to population. The main target is 100% institutional delivery.

Also Dr. Lakshmi Priya, the Deputy Commissioner asks the Paediatricians to improve the child care and immunization so that child death can be reduced in the district.
