The Assam cabinet meeting held on 6th September 2022 in Kokrajhar as a part of an initiative to develop the places where such session is held. This cabinet meets took several major decisions for the development of BTR.
Assam Chief Minister, Dr HImanta Biswa Sarma today chaired the state Cabinet meeting held in Kokrajhar, the headquarter of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).
Besides the state cabinet ministers, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Bodoand Territorial Council (BTC), Promode Bodo attended the today's Cabinet meeting as a special invitee.
KEY DECISIONS:
· Provincialization of 10 nos. colleges in BTR.
· Road infrastructure projects worth Rs 500 crore would be taken up.
· Bodo will be introduced as a medium of instruction in class 11 and 12 in Bodo medium and mixed medium having Bodo language.
· Appointment of professors, assistant professor and associate professor for Bodo language in colleges, irrespective of cast, candidates having requisite knowledge can apply for the post.
· To ensure police accountability by approving the Assam Police Bill, 2002. This will look into the establishment of a District Accountability Authority in each Police District or group of districts in a Police Range to ensure accountability of the police further and to inquire into cases of complaints of serious misconduct against police personnel.
· As a part of effort to correlate education with Indian classical tradition and value system, Auniati university is to set up at Kaliapani Satra, Teok in Jorhat district under Assam private Universities Act 2007.
· Ordinances are to be tabled in the upcoming Assembly session to ensure smooth administration of Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University.
· Implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), regrading delegation of financial powers to the PHE department to ensure smooth execution of work.
