Victor Das, who was arrested by the Assam Police on 9th September 2022(Friday) for spreading false rumours over an alleged scam on appointments to the Grade III and IV posts under the direct recruitment examination that was held across Assam on August 21 and 28.
He claimed that money had been traded in connection with recruitment exam, and irregularities in exam.
The police have charged him for spreading rumors and was detained by the Guwahati police. In his defense he said he has given all the proof to the police and the call records. He had alleged that sums of Rs 3 to 6 lakhs are being demanded from the candidates.
Assam's Director General of Police (DGP) Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta on Saturday stated that Victor Das couldn't provide viable information on the cash demands for recruitment into Grade III and IV posts matter and has misinterpreted the facts.
