Linda Yaccarino , new CEO of Twitter

Linda Yaccarino has been appointed as the new CEO of Twitter. Elon Musk on Friday named Linda Yaccarino, former NBCUniversal advertising chief, as the new Twitter chief executive officer or CEO. He added that Yaccarino will focus on 'business operations".

According to Twitter, Elon Musk will step down from the CEO position and will focus on product design & new technology. Yaccarino will join as Twitter CEO officially in six weeks' time.

Ms. Yaccarino was raised in an Italian-American family, with a father who was a police officer and a mother who never went to college. After graduating from Penn State, she worked at Turner Entertainment for 15 years before joining NBCUniversal. Yaccarino has been with NBCUniversal for more than 20 years and was the chair of advertising.

As Musk previously confirmed that the new Twitter CEO will join in 6 weeks from now. It is also worth noting that Yaccarino is the first female Twitter CEO and also the first to come from a non-tech background. All ex-Twitter CEOs were also from a tech background. Must say, with every passing day Twitter is taking an interesting turn.
