In a social media post on Saturday, CM Sarma requested that a senior police officer be assigned to conduct a fair and impartial inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Bora's death. "The bereaved family has raised questions regarding the circumstances of the accident. I request Hon’ble Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Shri @SangmaConrad, to ensure a fair and impartial inquiry by a senior police officer so that all facts are brought to light," Sarma posted on X.

Responding to the request, CM Sangma assured that instructions have been given for a fair and impartial inquiry into the incident. "@himantabiswa I have given instructions to ensure the same," Sangma replied on X.

According to initial reports, Bora had traveled to Shillong with five friends on the night of June 3. The accident occurred during their return journey when their vehicle, bearing Assam registration number AS 01 EV 9578, allegedly swerved to avoid a stationary car and crashed. Bora died on the spot, while the other occupants sustained minor injuries.

However, Bora's family has raised suspicions of foul play, citing irregularities such as her flat in Rukminigaon, Guwahati, being left unlocked—an uncharacteristic behavior. They also noted that she typically informed them before traveling anywhere.

Adding to the intrigue, a video reportedly recorded inside the car on the night of the incident has surfaced online. The footage shows loud music playing, with Namrata seated in the backseat. Anayatul Wadud, identified as the son of an AIUDF MLA, is seen driving, along with other passengers in the vehicle.

In response to the concerns raised, CM Sangma assured that a fair and impartial inquiry would be conducted. "I have given instructions to ensure the same," he stated on social media.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities have yet to confirm any arrests or charges. The call for a high-level probe underscores the mounting pressure to ensure transparency and justice in the case.
