Red Alert: Extremely Heavy Rainfall Predicted in Assam and Meghalaya, Authorities Urge Caution

Guwahati : 18 June 2025: ASDMA has given a statement to remain indoors during the rainy day, as it has issued a red alert on 18, 19, and 20 June for Assam and Meghalaya.

As it is expecting heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in the various isolated districts. As recently heavy rainfall waterlogging had happened, people are advised to take precautions.

The public is told to go to a safer place if they live in a hilly, vulnerable area and avoid traveling during intense rain. Travelers are advised to not make unnecessary movements during this period.

The local authorities keep an eye on the situations, and for the immediate response, the public is also asked to stay updated on the information and to stay alert. ASDMA has issued helpline numbers 0361-1070, 0361-1079, and 0361-112, and DDMA on 0361-1077.
