Joint Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, Mrs. Rita Baruah Saikia, visited Bongaigaon District today and inspected Bongaigaon Civil Hospital. She was accompanied by the i/c Joint Director of Health Services, the Superintendent of Bongaigaon Civil Hospital, the DME-cum-PRO, and the i/c Hospital Administrator.
During her visit, Mrs. Saikia undertook a comprehensive review of the hospital services and infrastructure. The inspection focused on the following key areas:
1.
Human Resources &
Manpower – Availability of doctors, nurses,
and specialists, staff attendance, and sanctioned versus filled posts.
2.
Drugs & Consumables – Stock position, procurement issues, and availability of essential
medicines and vaccines.
3.
Cleanliness &
Sanitation – Cleanliness of wards and toilets,
biomedical waste management, and pest control measures.
4.
Disposal of Scrap – Identification and disposal of obsolete and unusable hospital
equipment.
5.
Equipment Functionality
& Operation Theatres – Working condition
of critical equipment, cleanliness, and preparedness of OTs.
6.
Hospital Infrastructure – Building condition, power backup, water supply, lift services,
ramps, toilets, and signage.
7.
Implementation of
Health Schemes – Progress under Ayushman
Bharat, JSY, JSSK, and feedback from patients.
8.
OPD Registration
Process – Functionality of ABHA registration
counters, digital systems, queue management, and staff adequacy.
9.
Patient Waiting Area
& Amenities – Seating arrangements,
drinking water, fans, ventilation, dustbins, and overall cleanliness.
10. Laboratory & Diagnostic Services – Availability and functioning of routine investigations, X-ray,
and CT scan facilities.
11. SNCU & ICU Operations – Review
of newborn and critical care services.
12. Medical Records Management – Proper
documentation, storage, and confidentiality of both OPD and IPD records.
13. Blood Bank Services – Functioning, compliance, manpower availability, stock levels, and adherence to safety protocols.
The Joint Secretary emphasized the importance of strengthening patient-centric services, timely procurement of medicines, maintaining hygiene, and ensuring accountability in service delivery. She also appreciated the efforts of the medical team and encouraged all staff to work with renewed commitment to provide quality healthcare to the people of Bongaigaon district.
