Surprise Inspection Conducted by Joint Director of Health at Multiple Health Centres in Bongaigaon District

BONGAIGAON | 16th May 2026 | In a surprise inspection drive conducted today, Joint Director of Health Services, Bongaigaon, Dr. Gopal Chandra Ray visited several health institutions across the district to review healthcare delivery, staff attendance, cleanliness, and implementation of healthcare standards.

Accompanied by a district health team, the Joint Director inspected Singimari Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Nayagaon Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Lalmati Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Bishnupur State Dispensary and Amguri MPHC.

During the visit, the team found the health centres at Singimari and Nayagaon locked and closed during official working hours. Dr. Ray immediately contacted the concerned Community Health Officers (CHOs). While one CHO informed that she was present at a vaccination site in Jharpara, the explanation was reportedly found unsatisfactory. The Joint Director stated that disciplinary action would be initiated in the matter.

He further emphasized that all healthcare personnel must remain present at their designated health institutions during duty hours unless they are officially assigned elsewhere with proper communication and authorization.

At Bishnupur State Dispensary, local residents raised concerns regarding the irregular presence of the doctor posted at the facility and urged the authorities to take the issue seriously. Dr. Gopal Chandra Ray directed all healthcare employees to maintain punctuality and perform their duties sincerely and responsibly in the interest of public welfare.

Meanwhile, during inspections at Lalmati Ayushman Arogya Mandir and Amguri MPHC, the team reviewed various healthcare standards, patient services, and cleanliness conditions of the institutions. Although the centres were found to be functioning effectively, additional instructions were issued to further improve the quality and delivery of healthcare services.

Reiterating the importance of accountability, discipline, and quality healthcare for the public, the Joint Director stated that regular monitoring and surprise inspections would continue across the district in the coming days.
