Over 5,000 Students Join ABVP Membership Drive in Bongaigaon

Bongaigaon, August 27, 2026: The membership drive of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Assam Pradesh, has received an encouraging response in Bongaigaon district, with more than 5,000 students already enrolling as members.

The statewide membership campaign began on August 1, while a special membership drive was launched in Bongaigaon district on August 10. Since its commencement, the campaign has witnessed considerable enthusiasm among students across various educational institutions in the district.

According to ABVP Bongaigaon district convenor Nirav Das, a target of enrolling 9,734 students in the district was set during the district-level review planning meeting. He said the membership campaign is progressing rapidly towards achieving the target, with more than 5,000 students having already joined the organisation.

The membership drive will continue until September 10, and ABVP workers and office-bearers in Bongaigaon are working actively to achieve the target within the stipulated period, Das said.

Speaking about the organisation's objectives, Das said that ABVP is not merely a student organisation but has been working to promote leadership, social responsibility, national consciousness and personality development among students.

He further said that by becoming associated with the student organisation, students get an opportunity to develop themselves as responsible members of the student community while contributing to society.

Das appealed to students across Bongaigaon district to participate in the ongoing membership campaign. He emphasised the organisation's vision of nation-building through individual development and social development, and called upon students to become active participants in this process.

The Bongaigaon district unit of ABVP has also resolved to expand the membership campaign in the coming days and bring more students under its fold, with the aim of strengthening leadership qualities and a sense of social responsibility among the student community.
