The Assam down town University marked a watershed moment with its 10th Convocation, a magnificent event that honoured academic excellence and showed the dedication of its alumni.
On August 26, at the AdtU Campus in Panikhaiti, the celebration was graced by the presence of eminent dignitaries, including His Excellency, the Governor of Assam.
The Convocation's majestic commencement saw the members of the Governing Body, Board of Management, and the Academic Council of the University, as well as the D. Litt (Honoris Causa) degree nominees, in their ceremonial robes. His Excellency's entrance was marked by heartfelt greetings from the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of AdtU, leading him in the Academic Procession to the Convocation Venue.
The ambience intensified with patriotism as attendees stood in reverence to the National Anthem. His Excellency, following the formal inauguration, opened the convocation. The ambience was further enriched with cultural spectacles like AdtU's invocation song, infusing tradition and fervour into the event. The opening remarks were a blend of pride and gratitude, lauding the milestones achieved by the university and its outstanding graduates.
Unveiling the University's accomplishments, the Vice Chancellor presented a comprehensive report, followed by the Pro-Vice Chancellor announcing the esteemed D. Litt (Honoris Causa) degree to Shri Arnab Goswami, Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of Republic Media Network and Shri. Sharad Mehra, Chief Executive Officer (Asia Pacific), GUS Global Services. Each recipient was accorded the honour by His Excellency, marking their eminent status in academia.
With a nod to scholarly diligence, the ceremony recognized PhD scholars Mr. Partha Sarathi Mahanta, Ms. Maya Konwar, Ms. Shilpi Singh, Mr. Hrishikesh Sharma Mr. Ram Vinod Mahato and several others, with the Pro-Vice Chancellor bestowing upon them their well-earned Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Each candidate's academic journey was crowned as they were officially inducted by His Excellency. Assam down town University conferred a total of 27 Ph.D Degrees, 349 Post Graduate Degrees and 1064 Under Graduate Degrees.
