Press Meet on the campaign "Meri Maati, Mera Desh" addressed by District Commissioner, Bongaigaon

A Press Meet was addressed by Sri Nabadeep Pathak, District Commissioner, Bongaigaon on 7th August 2023 in the conference hall of the DC Office in connection with the "Meri Maati, Mera Desh" program in the presence of the Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, Bongaigaon and Additional District Commissioner (N).

The District Commissioner informed the media persons that the campaign "Meri Maati, Mera Desh" aims to honor the freedom fighters and Bravehearts who sacrificed their lives for the country as a final celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav".

This program will continue w.e.f. 9th, August to 30th August, 2023. In this program, SHILAPHLAKAM will be laid at prominent locations and Saplings also will be planted surrounding the SHILAPHALAKAM under Vasudha Vandhan.

Further, a handful of soil will be collected from every village under GP areas and from every Municipality Ward into two KALASH carried in a celebratory procession. 7 youths from the district will be selected who will carry the soil to Guwahati. One of the vessels will be kept in Guwahati and the other vessel will be carried to Delhi for "Amrit Vatika".
