ABU DHABI | 15th May 2026 | Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a wide-ranging and productive meeting with UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi, marking another significant step in strengthening the strategic partnership between India and the United Arab Emirates.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed expanding cooperation in several important sectors including energy, trade and investment, blue economy, advanced technology, fintech, defence and people-to-people ties. They also exchanged views on the evolving situation in West Asia and other important global developments.
Prime Minister Modi strongly condemned the recent attacks on the UAE and reiterated India’s support for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment towards maintaining peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
The visit also witnessed the exchange of several key agreements in areas such as energy, defence, infrastructure, shipping and advanced technology, further strengthening the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
In a major development, the UAE announced investments worth USD 5 billion in India, aimed at boosting infrastructure development and strengthening economic cooperation between the two nations.
The visit is also expected to significantly enhance India’s energy security while deepening bilateral relations between India and the UAE.
