According to the memorandums, the woman teacher, identified as Ms. Priyanka Sharma, a resident of Silchar, had visited Bongaigaon with her family during the Durga Puja festivities to meet their relative at Dhaligaon in Bongaigaon district. The organisation alleged that she was subjected to harassment, linguistic provocation, physical assault and public humiliation during the visit. It further claimed that the incident occurred in the presence of her minor son.

In its memorandum to the Superintendent of Police, the organisation called for a fair, impartial and time-bound investigation and urged the police to identify those responsible and initiate legal proceedings against them, irrespective of their organisational affiliation or identity.

The organisation also sought protection for the affected woman, her family and witnesses, along with measures to prevent the spread of linguistic, communal or ethnic hatred and to maintain peace and social harmony.

In a separate memorandum addressed to the Chief Workshop Manager of NF Railway, New Bongaigaon, the organisation requested that the subordinate official allegedly involved in the incident be temporarily withdrawn from duty pending the completion of the investigation. It also urged the railway authority to take appropriate action against anyone found responsible.

The organisation stated that the affected teacher had already sought legal recourse and expressed confidence in the country's judicial system and the police administration.

Both memorandums also condemned an alleged attack on the Bihu Dal in Sribhumi and called for stringent action against those found responsible.

The organisation urged the concerned authorities to take appropriate steps in accordance with the law, stating that a fair investigation and timely action were essential to uphold the dignity of women, protect the teaching community and preserve communal harmony in the region.

The allegations mentioned in the memorandums are yet to be independently verified.
