Officials of ARIAS Society arrived at Bongaigaon for a preliminary assessment to extend APART activities

Bongaigaon,15th Sept.: Four officials from Assam Rural Infrastructure and Agricultural Service Society (ARIAS) have arrived at Bongaigaon district yesterday for a preliminary assessment to extend support under Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformational Project( APART).

Dr. M S Lakshmi Priya, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Bongaigaon held a meeting with the officials regarding APART in the conference hall of DC Office in presence of Bhaskar Das, District Development Commissioner, SDO(Sadar) Bongaigaon, Assistant Commissioner, District Agriculture Officer, District Veterinary Officer, Agriculture Engineer, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, Dairy Development Officer, District Fishery Development Officer, DPM ,NRLM,DPM ,NULM, and progressive farmers of Bongaigaon.

The four officials of ARIAS Society are Sanjay Sharma, Fishery Coordinator, APART, ARIAS Society, Asif Bin Qutub, Business Development Manager, Baljeet Singh, Market Analyst and Operations Specialist, Bidyut Jyoti Das, Dairy and Livestock Coordinator and Kanwar Singh, Resident Consultant, IRRI, APART. They have arrived today and will stay upto 16th Sept.,2021 and will do field visits with departmental officers and progressive farmers to various units of the district including Joha rice value chain and market linkages, Lemon, turmeric, pineapple value chain, Beel fishery including prawn cultivation, milk processing unit, FPC approach etc.

They also plan to develop 5 markets of Bongaigaon district under the project.
