Bongaigaon : Bongaigaon Times: 10th September 2025 : An interaction program with mentors and mentees under the state government’s “Aarohan” scheme was held today at the Assam Police Conference Centre, Bongaigaon.

The event was jointly organized by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner and the Education Department. Deputy Commissioner Nabadeep Pathak addressed the students, guiding them on how to excel academically and grow as responsible citizens. Under the scheme, the brightest Class IX students from 92 schools in the district have been selected as mentees, each paired with a teacher mentor for academic guidance.

Superintendent of Police Mohanlal Meena shared his personal experiences and advised students to set clear goals, work with dedication, and overcome challenges with determination. He also stressed the importance of respecting parents and becoming good human beings in addition to pursuing professional careers.

Zilla Parishad CEO Anupam Deka highlighted that there are no shortcuts to success and said parents play the role of the first teachers in every child’s life. He urged students to give equal importance to values along with studies.

Inspector of Schools Pallabi Medhi explained the objectives of the Aarohan scheme, while Additional Deputy Commissioner Nirmali Barua appreciated the initiative. Circle Officer Mousam Pratim Nath was also present at the event, which was coordinated by Education Department Project Officer Abhijit Chakravarty.

The mentees enthusiastically interacted with the Deputy Commissioner and other dignitaries, raising questions and sharing their thoughts during the session.
