The program has been inaugurated by lighting lamp by DC Bongaigaon at DC Conference hall in presence of CEO ZP, ADCs, SDO (Sadar) and DSWO i/c, Joint Director, Health Services, Bongaigoan, CDPOs, Dist. Co-Ordinator Poshan Abhiyan, Bongaigaon, Supervisers, Executive Engineer, PHE, District Elementary Education Officer, journalist, NGO activists, etc.
From 1st September to 7th September,2021 the Matru Vandana Saptah will be celebrated in the District and its' theme is Surakshit Janani, Bikshit Dharani. The inaugural program and signature campaign was held today on 01/09/2021.

On the second day there will be Gram Sabha/Urban Local Bodies in the entire Dist. for sensitization of the citizens about nutrition, health and hygiene of Pregnant, lactating women and SAM children .On the third day there will be door to door campaign for maximum enrolment of beneficiaries under PMMVY and programs to create awareness about Covid19 vaccination.
On the fourth day there will be meeting at the ICDS Project Level in presence of Bank Officials to resolve the issues pertaining to opening of Bank Account of the beneficiaries under PMMVY.
On the fifth day focus will be given on 2nd and 3rd installments dues clearance as much as possible.
On sixth day there will be Discussion Program at district level on issues relating to Nutrition, Health and Sanitation involving CBOs, NGOs working in the field of Women & Children and experts from various fields like Nutrition, Health and personal hygiene etc.
And on the 7th and last day there will be felicitation program. Support and coordination provided by the line departments will also be appreciated at the program.
During the Poshan month from 1st Sept- 30th Sept, there will be convergence activities between various departments- Agriculture, Education, Health and Family Welfare, P&RD, Ayush, Environment and Forest and others with Social Welfare department.

The theme of the Poshan month of 2021 is Health Walk through Life. Plantation, Activities through POSHAN Vatika, Yoga and Ayush for Nutrition. Distribution of Regional Nutrition Kit and Identification of SAM Children and Distribution of Nutritious Foods will be done during the month of September.
In the entire villages and wards of Bongaigaon district and in the only one tea garden of the District namely Birjhora Tea Estate all kinds of services and awareness programs relating to health, hygiene and nutrition of the Children, pregnant and lactating mothers during the Poshan Month and afterwards will be taken up.
