Bongaigaon Police has taken an initiative to create an awareness on the subject Child Right and Child Protection among the people of Bongaigaon.
Today, (10th September 2022) a seminar and interactive session has been observed by Bongaigaon Police at the Bodhibriksha Pre-School with the teacher, students and the guardians. The initiative behind this program is to create an awareness on Child Right and Child Protection. Several Awareness program is going on in villages, schools and colleges’ across the district said, SP Bongaigaon, Sri Swapnaneel Deka.
Sri Swapnaneel Deka (SP), Smt. Luna Sonowal (Addl. SP) and Sri Upen Kalita (OC) interacted with the students and their parents regarding different rights, protections and other issues related to child. The founder of the Bodhibriksha Pre-School, Smt. Tarali Upadhaya also interacted and hosted the program.
It is important to known the basic law and understand the right. Knowing the law empower every human being to deal with the exploitation and this is the actual aim of this interactive session.

They mentioned about the Child protection acts like POCSO Act 2012, child marriage Act, 2006, Children (Pledging Labour) 1933, the Child Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Act etc, which are the major Acts deal with the subject of exploitation and abuses. They also said to the parents not to keep any fear of police and accept them as their friend. On any issues they face, should report to the nearest police station on the basis of the Acts mentioned above.
Dance, Drama and games among the children have been the part of this awareness program.
